Parasitocenologists from six states to gather in Vitebsk on 4-5 November

VITEBSK, 2 November (BelTA) – The international scientific and practical conference on parasitic diseases will be held at the Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine on 4-5 November. Taking part in the conference will be about 50 specialists from six countries, BelTA learnt from pro-rector for academic research of the academy Alexander Subbotin. The two-day conference is organized by the International Association of Parasitocenologists. The academy is going to host the forum for the second time. The academy is well known and recognized for its research in this field. Representatives of research centers and academic institutions of Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Tajikistan, Moldova and Italy have confirmed their participation in the conference. Top on the agenda will be the spread of parasitic diseases, their clinical implications and diagnostics. A special emphasis will be placed on diseases potentially dangerous for people. The participants of the conference will communicate their best practices in the field, discuss new diagnostic, treatment, and prevention methods, new combination therapy methods and efficiency of new medicines. The conference will be structured into two parts: “Scientific and applied research, diagnostic and treatment of animals and prevention of parasitocenoses”, and “Parasitocenoses research methods, their relevance, efficiency, academic and methodological aspects”. A roundtable session will be held to discuss the prospects of research and academic aspects of parasitocenology, a possibility to carry out joint projects and the themes of possible joint projects. The participants will also discuss some organizational matters and elect a new steering body of the organization. The International Association of Parasitocenologists was set up in 2004. The organization unites parasitocenologists from the CIS states. In the recent years, scientists from the EU are showing interest in the work of the organization. The conference is organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus, the International Association of Parasitocenologists and the Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine.
