Over 1,000 craftsmen and artists come to Slavonic Bazaar
VITEBSK, 11 July (BelTA) - The 21st International Arts Festival Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk has brought together over 1,000 craftsmen and artists, BelTA learnt. Artists started working on 11 July. Their pictures will be showcased in Tolstogo and Suvorova Streets near the Vitebsk Regional Local Lore Museum. Representatives of the Vitebsk center of modern art said that this year the festival is attended by over 150 artists from all over Belarus. An unprecedented number of folk artists and artisans have come to Vitebsk this year. They represent a great variety of traditional Belarusian crafts. Most craftsmen and artists will participate in a folk crafts fair Zadzvinsky Kirmash that will be opened at the historic and cultural complex Golden Ring of the City of Vitebsk “Dvina” on 12 July. The fair will feature master classes by potters, blacksmiths, ceramists and woodcarvers. Woodcarvers from Belarus, Poland and Russia will participate in the plein-air session Back into the Past. A common exhibition Patchwork Mosaic will display the works of artists from Obninsk (Kaluga Oblast) and the Phoenix club from Polotsk. City of Artisans will be held in Victors’ Park in Kalinina Street. Over 200 artists from Vitebsk Oblast will participate in an exhibition and fair to demonstrate traditional arts of the Pridvinie region. The works of artists will be showcased until the end of the art festival.БЕЛТА
