Orsha, Liozno forest services keeping eye on Smolensk Oblast wildfires

VITEBSK, 6 August (BelTA) – The Orsha and Liozno forest services is monitoring the situation with the wildfires in the Smolensk Oblast, BelTA learnt from Aleksei Shaposhnikov, acting head of the department for forest protection, hunting and tourism of the Vitebsk Forestry. The Orsha forest service is tracking the situation with wildfires 10-13 kilometers off the border on the territory of the Krasnyansnky forestry, the Smolensk Oblast. The area of the fire makes up almost 50 hectares. Another large fire has been located at the Rudnya forestry. According to the specified data, it is 30 kilometers from the Belarusian-Russian border, Aleksei Shaposhnikov said. “At present these wildfires pose no danger to Belarus. At the same time a permanent control over the Liozno and Orsha forest services is in place in order to prevent the worsening of the situation,” he stressed.
