Nine countries to participate at Dubrovno Music Festival

VITEBSK, 22 June (BelTA) – Art groups from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Slovakia and Moldova will take part in the 19th International Song and Music Festival “Dnieper Voices in Dubrovno”, BelTA learnt from the Dubrovno District Executive Committee. The festival will begin on 22 June. The participants to the festival will gather at the Rylenki Memorial to commemorate victims of the Great Patriotic War. A concert featuring war-time songs will be held in the evening. The Day of Remembrance and Grief will culminate in a torchlight procession and a ceremony of floating candles and a remembrance wreath into the river. In the next two days the town will turn into a huge stage welcoming musicians, dancers, artists, craftsmen, cooks and even medieval knights. The opening ceremony of the 19th International Song and Music Festival “Dnieper Voices in Dubrovno” and a concert of art groups will be held on 23 June. A gala concert of art groups and singers from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Slovakia and Moldova will precede a mass procession of all the festival’s guests. The festival will end with a Friendly Feast of the participating groups in Kireevskaya grove. The Dubrovno Festival attracts a growing number of participants and is no longer limited to Russia, Belarus and Ukraine.
