Model business plan of logistics center developed in Vitebsk Oblast
VITEBSK, 31 December (BelTA) – A model business plan to set up a regional transport and logistics center near the Vitebsk airport was developed for potential investors by the Vitebsk Center for Regional Research. The project was ordered by the oblast executive committee, BelTA learnt from Director of the research center Natalia Berchenko. The model business plan focuses on investment-related activities that have to be done to implement the project. The project is aimed to create convenient infrastructure for organizations involved in transportation, storage and delivery of goods and enterprises located in the Vitebsk and Novopolotsk industrial zones. The transport and logistics center is to become a multimodal cargo terminal providing a whole range of services. Apart from that, the transport and logistics center will carry out research of the forwarding market and its participants and forge partnerships with partners from other countries. The implementation of the project will enhance the efficiency of the regional transit potential and create new jobs. The project developed by the Vitebsk specialists might be of interest to the developers of similar projects and government bodies seeking investors for their projects. The model business plan allows providing potential investors with exhaustive information on the projects. Furthermore, a business plan gives an opportunity to choose the best terms of implementing the project when compared with other projects. A potential investor will be able to evaluate the efficiency and feasibility of creating a transport and logistics center on a given territory and easily adapt the business model to particular circumstances. The Vitebsk Center for Regional Research was set up in 2004. The center carries out economic and social studies of the region, makes projections, elaborates programs and strategic development plans.
