Minister reveals traumatic experiences of Belarus' rescue team in Türkiye
Emergencies Minister Vadim Sinyavsky told the Belarus 1 TV channel about the rescue operation in Türkiye, BelTA informs.
“The rescue operation in Türkiye was successfully completed. The Belarusian rescue team was put together within a very short period of time upon the instruction of the president. The relief team returned alive and well, having fulfilled their task,” Vadim Sinyavsky said.
The minister pointed to extremely difficult working conditions. “The rescue workers were exposed to a tremendous psychological stress. The Belarusians promptly responded to this emergency and were actually the first on the scene,” he stressed.
“The most difficult thing for first responders was not hard physical work and the psychological impact of the disaster, but seeing the eyes of parents who lost their children. Parents showed photos of their missing children and asked with tears to help find them. When our guys found these children dead, there was little they could say to the people who lost their loved ones. And it was probably the most difficult thing,” the emergencies minister said.
