Magnificat 2011 festival to take place in September
MINSK, 25 February (BelTA) – The 7th international festival of Christian cinema and television Magnificat 2011 will be held in Belarus in September, BelTA learnt from the Belarusian Roman Catholic Church. A conference of catholic bishops of Belarus made a decision to hold the movie forum in Minsk and Glubokoye on 6-10 September. According to one of the organizers of the festival, the last year showed that it made more sense to hold the festival in autumn, instead of summer. In 2010, the festival brought together representatives of 15 countries: Belarus, Australia, Germany, Georgia, India, Spain, Italy, Canada, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, the USA, Ukraine and Croatia. Magnificat is a review of Belarusian and foreign movie and TV works promoting gospel ideals and universal values. The goal of the festival is the appraisal of Belarusian and foreign movies and television programs and preservation of universal values preached by various Christian religions. Taking part in the festival are Catholic movies as well as Orthodox and Protestant ones. The international Catholic festival of Christian documentaries and television programs, Magnificat, is organized by the Catholic Association for Communication Signis-Belarus, Vitebsk diocese of the Roman Catholic Church, editorial office of Dyaloh magazine and Stop-Kadr studio.БЕЛТА
