Lepel Dairy Plant doubles export in January-April

VITEBSK, 14 May (BelTA) – In January-April 2010, the Lepel Dairy Plant doubled export to $12.5 million, BelTA learned from Alexander Mikhailovsky, the director of the plant. The Lepel Dairy Plant exports about 70% of the total output. The main sales markets of the dairy are the Russian Federation and Venezuela. The plant exports around 50% of dried milk and butter to those countries. In the future, the Lepel Dairy Plant intends to increase supplies to Venezuela. In 2010, the plant is expected to triple its export to Venezuela, Alexander Mikhailovsky noted. The Lepel Dairy also operates on the markets of Kazakhstan, Iran, Vietnam, Moldova. At present, representatives of the plant are discussing an opportunity to supply dairy products to Mongolia. In January-April 2010, the Lepel Dairy Plant produced Br45 billion worth of products, up 24% as against the same period last year. The profitability of the plant made up 8.7%. For the past four months, the productivity of labor increased by 15.7%. The Lepel Dairy Plant was founded 1951. It includes the Tolochin Butter and Cheese Making Plant, the Dokshitsy Dairy Plant, the Beshenkovichi Dairy Plant and the Zaozerje agricultural company. The Lepel Dairy produces whole milk products, dried fat-free milk, cheese and ice cream. The plant employs more than 860 people.
