Jemal Sepiashvili to head jury at children’s music contest Vitebsk 2012

VITEBSK, 26 April (BelTA) – Georgian composer and singer Jemal Sepiashvili will head the jury of the international children’s music contest Vitebsk 2012, representatives of the Directorate of the art festival Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk told BelTA. Jemal Sepiashvili is an honored art worker of Georgia, a laureate of the State Award in Georgia, a public figure. His works express an inseparable connection with origins of the Georgian national music. The composer pays a lot of attention to talented children. He has sat on the jury of a national qualifier for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. He has held master classes for young performers and has composed a special hymn for Georgian entrants in Eurovision. The international children’s music contest Vitebsk 2012 will take place during the 21st international art festival Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk that will take place on 12-18 June. The contest is meant to popularize children’s music art, to reveal talented young performers, to educate artistic taste, to revive the best pop music traditions. The contest will gather kids aged 7-12 from various countries. As many as 23 participants are allowed to take part in the contest.
