Israeli exhibition in tribute of Chagall’s anniversary opens in Vitebsk
VITEBSK, 9 July (BelTA) - The Israeli exhibition dedicated to Marc Chagall opened at the Yakub Kolas National Academic Drama Theater in Vitebsk as part of the celebrations of the 125th anniversary of the birth of the artist. The exhibtion was presented by the Israeli cultural center at the Embassy of the State of Israel in the Republic of Belarus, BelTA learnt from the culture department of the Vitebsk City Hall. This is a travelling exhibition prepared by the Association of Professional Artists of Israel and is part of the big project “Chagall in Israel" the general concept of which is a dialogue of a contemporary Israeli artist with the Master. The exhibition features 30 works by contemporary Israeli artists of various artistic schools and genres. Each artist presents his perception of the spiritual heritage of Chagall and his view of the present day through the prism of time. This is a tribute of the present generation to the artist who captured the Israeli landscapes in the illustrations to the Bible. Among the exhibitors is the native of Vitebsk Ilya Khinich. The exhibition opened on 8 July and will run until 18 July.БЕЛТА
