Investor ready to spend $10m on peat processing factory in Liozno District

VITEBSK, 21 November (BelTA) – A Czech company intends to invest about $10 million into the establishment of a compact factory to process peat in Liozno District, Mr Ivan Lavrinovich, Chairman of the Liozno District Executive Committee, told Mr Alexander Yakobson, Chairman of the State Control Committee of Belarus, on 21 November. BelTA has learned that the project is scheduled to be implemented in 2013-2015 and provides for starting the small-scale production of peat substrates and peat pellets. The entire output will be exported. There are plans to create 20 jobs at the new enterprise. It is the second project that a Czech company has implemented in the district. The first one, the private manufacturing and construction enterprise Brizant Energy Tsentr with the authorized fund of $270,000, is wholly owned by a resident company of Czechia. The enterprise specializes in environmentally friendly organic fuel made of renewable local resources, namely wood, sawdust, straw, cereal crops waste. The Czech company has manufactured and installed a line to make wood pellets. The line’s designed output capacity will be 50,000 tonnes of end products in 2012-2013. It will be upgraded to 100,000 tonnes in 2013-2014. As much as $2.6 million has been invested in the enterprise since it was registered. In January-October 2012 as much as 121 tonnes of the merchandise was made and exported to Czechia. The earnings totaled Br68 million. The enterprise has created jobs for 25 people.
