International youth camp Be-La-Rus to open in Vitebsk Oblast on 24 July
VITEBSK, 21 July (BelTA) – The 23rd International Youth Camp Be-La-Rus will open in Verkhnedvinsk District, Vitebsk Oblast, on 24 July, BelTA learned from the Vitebsk Oblast office of the BRSM Youth Union.
The youth camp Be-La-Rus takes place at the junction of the borders of Belarus, Latvia and Russia near the Mound of Friendship which was erected as a symbol of cooperation between partisans of the three countries every year.
The camp is organized by the BRSM Youth Union, the Youth Progress Union of Latvia and the Russian Youth Union by rotation. This year’s Be-La-Rus camp is organized by the Russian side. The main topic of the forum will be the cultural revolution as 2014 is the year of culture in Russia.
Boys and girls will take part in educational, cultural, sports and entertainment events. The program of the forum will include a national cuisine competition, exhibitions of national delegations, trainings and role-playing games, sports competitions and creative contests. On 26 July the participants of the forum will hold a meeting at the Mound of Friendship. Young people will meet with veterans of the Great Patriotic War, lay wreaths at the monuments to underground fighters.
