Harvesting of grain and leguminous crops is being completed in Vitebsk region

According to the head of the Department of agriculture, crop production and feed production of the Committee on Agriculture and Food of the regional Executive Committee Valery Nerozya, cereals and legumes were harvested on an area of 249.3 thousand hectares (97 %). The highest gross yield is in Orsha and Vitebsk districts, respectively, 89 and 70 thousand hectares. In the context of farms, the Vitebsk broiler poultry farm is the leader in this indicator – 45 thousand tons of grain (it is ahead of 15 districts in terms of threshing) with a yield of 40.8 c / ha.

Farms have started harvesting spring rapeseed, which so far gives 16 centners per round.

The flax was ground on time. Weather conditions contribute to good storage conditions. 45% of flax trusts were pressed and shipped (as of the same date last year, it was 17%).

Potato growers of Vitebsk region have the best yield - 441 centners / ha (in the country-381 centners / ha). The largest areas in Belarus for the second bread are allocated at the Tolochinsky cannery - 1.1 thousand hectares, and here the highest yield is 459.7 centners / ha.

Some regions have started harvesting corn for silage. However, now the priority is harvesting grass feed in the second and third mowing areas, and about a hundred mechanized teams are involved in this type of work every day. The May cold snap and June drought affected the development of grasses, as a result of which the volume of haylage from the first mowing was not received. Currently, 10.55 centners per head of cattle have been harvested (as of the same date last year, it was 14.8 centners per head). By the way, the gap is gradually narrowing – over the past week, by almost 1 centner per unit, some farms have started harvesting intermediate crops for silage, which will also replenish the winter feed table of cattle. Farmers are tasked to sow 50 thousand hectares of grain and cruciferous plants in the fall, which will be used for green fodder in the spring.
