Glubokoye Milk Cannery to ship pilot lot of products to USA in H1

VITEBSK, 10 January (BelTA) – Glubokoye Milk Cannery is set to explore new sales markets in 2012, BelTA learnt from the company. In H1 2012 the company has plans to ship a pilot lot of canned milk to the United States. The enterprise will deliver 21 tonnes of condensed milk to New York. The products are meant for immigrants from the former Soviet republics. The agreement on trial shipment of products has already been reached with an American partner; the contract will be signed in the near future. In 2012 the company will ship a pilot lot of products to the Republic of Benin (West Africa) and increase exports to traditional sales markets. In 2011 the company exported $43 million worth of products, or 102% as against 2010. The insignificant growth in export is attributed to a considerable increase in exports last year. In January-November exports made 52.8% of total sales. The company exported to Russia, Kazakhstan (these countries account for the bulk of exports as the company has two own trading houses there and a developed distribution network), Ukraine, Armenia, Israel and other countries. In 2011 the company made products worth Br405.6 billion, 191.7% as against 2010. The profitability of sales in January-November reached 10.6%. Innovative products accounted for over 25% of the produce. The company invested Br35 billion in company growth. The company was founded in 1966. In 1998 it was transformed into a joint stock company. It operates the Braslav production branch (former dairy) and the Mnyuto agricultural enterprise. The factory produces canned milk, butter, dry milk, whole-milk products, casein, and hard cheeses. The product range includes more than 120 items. The factory employs 1,100 people.
