FEZ Vitebsk resident companies increased export by 44% in January-June
VITEBSK, 28 July (BelTA) – In January-June FEZ Vitebsk resident companies exported $60.5 million worth of goods, up 44% over the same period of last year, BelTA learned from the FEZ Vitebsk Administration. The CIS states accounted for more than 90% of the total export including the Russian Federation (over 80%). In January-June 2010 FEZ Vitebsk posted a surplus in foreign trade to the tune of $5.3 million. In the period under review, FEZ Vitebsk resident companies imported $55.2 million worth of goods, down 1.9% over the same period of last year. FEZ Vitebsk resident companies attracted around $13.3 million of foreign investments including $10.9 million of direct investments. In H1 2010, FEZ Vitebsk resident companies used Br32.6 billion of investments. All in all, the total investments in the fixed capital made up Br30.3 billion. In January-June, FEZ Vitebsk resident companies increased production by 17.5% in comparable prices as against the same period of last year. All in all, FEZ resident companies produced Br300 billion worth of goods. Free Economic Zone Vitebsk was founded in August 1999. There are 37 resident compnaies in the free economic zone. The majority of them are engaged in the engineering and woodworking areas, food, chemical, fuel and light industries. The FEZ total personnel reach 8,000 professionals. The FEZ Vitebsk territory exceeds 1,200 hectares.БЕЛТА
