Business forum in Vitebsk hailed as efficient ground for forging new ties

VITEBSK, 21 October (BelTA) – The business forum in Vitebsk is an efficient form of business cooperation, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Latvia Alexander Gerasimenko told BelTA on 21 October, BelTA has learnt. In his words, the business forum in Vitebsk boasts an excellent organization. It provides great opportunities to potential business partners to establish personal contacts. “This is the best way to forge new ties; after all, during a one-on-one conversation a businessman can learn much more than after browsing the necessary information in the Internet. Therefore, the efficiency of such events is obvious,” Alexander Gerasimenko said. The Belarusian ambassador pointed to new forms of work used at the ongoing business forum. One of them is a business matchmaking session and a roundtable session “Promising cooperation avenues of Belarus-Latvia investment and innovative cooperation” featuring members of the Belarusian embassy in Latvia and the Latvian embassy in Belarus, businessmen from Latvia and Vitebsk Oblast, local authorities of Latvia’s Latgale region. The Latvian delegation that arrived in Vitebsk for talks includes about 80 members. “This event is essential for promoting the bilateral cooperation”, the ambassador emphasized. He expressed confidence that the forum will result in more joint ventures. “Latvian investors have already showed their interest in various projects in Braslav and Miory districts and in Vitebsk”, Alexander Gerasimenko added. The second international forum “Innovative business – investment into the future” is held in Vitebsk on 21-22 October. Taking part in the forum are over 200 businessmen from Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, Bulgaria, the UK, Poland, Czechia, Germany, Italy, Norway, India, Vietnam, Azerbaijan, Spain. The forum is organized by the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee.
