Belarusian-Latvian border checkpoint Grigorovshchina to re-open on 15 October

VITEBSK, 2 October (BelTA) – The automobile border checkpoint Grigorovshchina at the Belarusian-Latvian border will be re-opened to all kinds of traffic at 11:00 on 15 October, representatives of the Vitebsk Customs House told BelTA. The border checkpoint Grigorovshchina is located in Verkhnedvinsk District at the Belarusian-Latvian border. It was closed on 15 July 2012 for large-scale reconstruction. The first phase is expected to be commissioned on 15 October. As many as two exit lanes and one entry lane will be available for trucks as well as several lanes for cars and buses. Refitting automobile border checkpoints is a priority for the State Customs Committee of Belarus. The efforts are exercised as part of the government program for 2011-2015. BelTA reported earlier that as part of the government program as much as Br134.95 billion was envisaged to commission the automobile border checkpoints Privalka at the Belarusian-Lithuanian border and Grigorovshchina at the Belarusian-Latvian border in 2012. Apart from that, the development of design specifications and estimates for the automobile border checkpoints Kamenny Log and Novaya Guta has to begin. The program’s accomplishment will allow raising the total throughput capacity of border checkpoints up to 33,980 automobiles per day by 2015.
