Belarusian-Czech whey processing joint venture set up in Vitebsk Oblast

VITEBSK, 31 December (BelTA) – A Belarusian-Czech joint venture to dry whey has been set up in Vitebsk Oblast, BelTA learnt from Deputy Director General of the Vitebsk-based concern Meat and Dairy Products Sergei Shinelev. The joint venture MolokoVitebsk-Mega was established by the Moloko company (Vitebsk) and Czechia’s Mega. Each of them accounts for 50% of the authorized fund of the joint venture. The administration of the new enterprise has already been formed. The company is set to process 500 tonnes of liquid whey a day. The raw materials will be supplied from the Vitebsk and Orsha districts. The project is estimated at over Br60 billion. The company is to start working in 2011. Another whey-drying facility is being established at Verkhnedvinsk Creamery. The company will process 200 tonnes of whey per day. These two enterprises will be able to process all the whey in the oblast. In January-November 2010, the concern produced Br1.5 trillion worth of products, up 15.4% over the same period a year before. The profitability of production is 3.9%. In January-November, the export grew by 40% to reach $231 million. The energy conservation index was minus 14.4%. Over this period Br118 billion was invested in the concern. The concern incorporates four meatpacking plants and eight dairy factories.
