Belarusian army reservists participate in live-fire battalion-sized exercise
A tactical battalion-sized live-fire exercise involving reservists took place in the exercise area of the 51st Guards Artillery Brigade, representatives of the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.
The exercise focused on improving the reservists' abilities to use the entire arsenal of small arms, weapons of infantry fighting vehicles and tanks, new methods of warfare and tactical camouflage, and reconnaissance and communications equipment in a firefight.
Defense Minister, Lieutenant-General Viktor Khrenin noted: “Virtually one month ago many of you didn't know each other and didn't expect you will be recalled to army and will have to brush up on your Motherland defense skills. Today I take pride in your actions. Many of you left families and problems at home but you've stepped outside the comfort zone. Every one of you has demonstrated your manly skills. We are men and we have to know how to protect our Motherland. As I watched your actions, I saw a truly smoothly functioning battalion. It means a lot.”
