Belarus, Russia to test technical information search engine
Belarus and Russia have come to terms on starting the testing of a platform designed to search for technical information, BelTA learned from Head of Russia's Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent) Yuri Zubov.
Yuri Zubov said: “In the age of digitization and growing volumes of data we see huge prospects in enabling new information exchange. Rospatent has created 15 brand new information systems. We are convinced they will work for the benefit of our bilateral cooperation with Belarus' National Center of Intellectual Property. We have already agreed to start testing a search platform, which combines the entire world's technical information. All the volume of up-to-date data that users, inventors, scientists, the private sector need is already available in the National Center of Intellectual Property.”
According to the source, there are many avenues for advancing digital development. A working group is being created within the framework of the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO). The group can help realize a lot of new projects.
Speaking about accomplishments, Yuri Zubov mentioned the creation of a center for facilitating cutting-edge technologies. “We've picked out the most professional experts and have put together a team, which helps the private sector and scientific communities find existing patents for the sake of import substitution of those incoming technologies. We look for patents and teams and hand them over to the private sector so that it could make products out of it. We also help find manufacturers for these products. Such areas of activities have already been agreed with regard to information technologies, healthcare, aircraft engineering, and agriculture.”
