Belarus, Russia to pass nearly 400 laws to promote Union State
Minsk is very dear to me, I have been here more than 50 times already, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus Boris Gryzlov said as he met with Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko, BelTA has learned.
“I would like to thank you for the opportunity to have this meeting here today. This is an important milestone in our relations. Minsk is dear to me. I like it. I have been here over 50 times. It is like home to me,” Boris Gryzlov said.
Talking to journalists, the ambassador noted that in line with the established diplomatic practice, new ambassadors should meet with heads of all branches of power. “Today Vladimir Andreichenko and I have agreed to discuss many pressing issues of cooperation. First of all, there are 28 sectoral programs aimed to promote the development of the Union State. It is necessary to adopt a large number of laws within the framework of these programs. The number of laws that we are set to adopt approaches 400. I mean laws in Russia and Belarus. It is also interesting how the legislative process is unfolding following the recently adopted amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus. It was said that it is necessary to adopt about 200 regulatory documents. This is the question that will naturally be of interest to me. The Union State budget is also on the agenda. Of course, we will also touch upon the situation in Ukraine,” he stressed.
