Belarus-Russia Interbank Currency Council to meet in Vitebsk 21-22 May
MINSK, 20 May (BelTA) – The 32nd session of the Interbank Currency Council of the Central Banks of Belarus and Russia will take place in Vitebsk on 21-22 May, BelTA learned from the information department of the National Bank of Belarus. Partaking in the session will be Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Belarus Piotr Prokopovich, Chairman of the Bank of Russia Sergei Ignatyev, other members of the central banks of the two countries. The participants of the session will take stock of the economic situation and the implementation of the major guidelines of the monetary policy in Belarus and Russia in Q1 2010 including the currency policy and measures to mitigate the consequences of the global financial crisis, regulation of the banking sector liquidity. The session will highlight the activity of the banking systems of the two countries in 2009, development and functioning of the credit reference bureau in Belarus and Russia. The session will also focus on the bilateral balance of payment and the Belarus-Russia Union State balance of payment in 2009, international reserves and foreign currency liquidity of the central banks of the two countries based on the notions of the IMF Special Data Dissemination Standard.БЕЛТА
