Belarus’ new development program promotes youth empowerment
VITEBSK, 29 November (BelTA) – The new draft development program of Belarus for the forthcoming five-year period provides all the tools to fulfill the creative talents of the youth, First Secretary of the Vitebsk Regional Committee of the BRSM Youth Union, delegate of the All-Belarus People’s Congress Dmitry Khoma told BelTA. The youth leader said he is very excited to take part in such an important forum. “A great responsibility rests with the delegates, because the future of the country depends on their decisions; therefore, it is crucial that the draft program should be publicly discussed,” Dmitry Khoma said. The very fact that the country remains committed to the affordability of healthcare, education, science, culture and sport that are essential for the comprehensive development of a person demonstrates that the state takes care of its future, the delegate said. The program is aimed to support families and encourage births by means of offering housing loans on preferential terms. “Many young families with children find it difficult to get a housing loan, though an own apartment is a guarantee that a family will stay together and give birth to more children,” Dmitry Khoma believes. He approves of the introduction of European education standards, envisaged by the program. This will improve the qualifications of university graduates and enhance the economic performance of the country. The biggest youth organization of Vitebsk Oblast faces a challenge to bring together active and dedicated boys and girls in the forthcoming five-year period. The organization is not going to close its doors before the so-called underground movements. According to Dmitry Khoma, they have started showing sincere interest in the BRSM recently and taking part in the events of the organization. The Vitebsk Office of the BRSM Youth Union has almost 65,000 members and runs about 2,300 grass-route organizations.БЕЛТА
