Belarus implements 27 industrial projects worth over $5bn with China's help
Belarus has implemented 27 projects worth over $5 billion with the China's support since 2008, Belarusian First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov said in an interview to Belarus 1 TV channel on 27 October, BelTA has learned.
"China was the only country that provided Belarus with loans for industrial enterprises. Both loans and direct investments were injected into these 27 projects. The point is that over these years no other country provided financing for industrial development projects," Nikolai Snopkov said. "These projects contributed a quarter of Belarus' GDP and 2-2.5% every year. That speaks volumes about our relationship with China."
Nikolai Snopkov reaffirmed that Belarus will continue to cooperate with China in terms of industrial development, including with the use based on China’s credit lines that are favorable and the most convenient for our country under the current situation both by terms and interest rates.
