Athletes from four countries to partake in gymnastics tournament in Vitebsk

VITEBSK, 8 December (BelTA) – Athletes from four countries will take part in Belarus’ open gymnastics tournament in memory of Olympic champion Tamara Lazakovich that will start in Vitebsk on 8 December, BelTA learnt from Director of the Junior School of Gymnastics Dmitry Khrushch. The tournament was established in 1995. This year it has brought together 30 promising gymnasts from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan, including members of national teams. The youngest participant is only 11. The all-around champion will be awarded a special prize from the organizers of the event. The prizewinners will be presented with diplomats and gifts. The awarding and closing ceremony will be held on 10 December. The tournament is organized by the physical culture, sport and tourism department of the Minsk City Council and the Junior School of Gymnastics.
