Alena Lanskaya leading after first day of Vitebsk 2011 Song Contest
VITEBSK, 12 July (BelTA) – Alena Lanskaya from Belarus is currently leading after the first day of the Vitebsk 2011 Song Contest, BelTA has learned. The girl scored 89 points out of 90. Ukraine’s Vladimir Kvasnitsa and David Deil from Czech Republic are ranked second with 88 points each. Ruta from Lithuania landed third with 86 points. Dimitar Atanasov from Bulgaria, Alisher Karimov from Kazakstan, Christina Scarlat from Moldova, and Marie Carne from Russia scored 83 points each. The audience in Vitebsk welcomed all contestants with warm applause and provided all of them with cordial support. The second day of the song contest will take place on 12 July. However, the intrigue will remain till the very last moment. Partaking in the 20th International Song Contest Vitebsk 2011 are 20 singers from 20 countries. The jury is chaired by Belarus’ Culture Minister Nikolai Latushko.БЕЛТА
