The Vitebsk oblast executive committee has awarded an honorary diploma to more than 90 professionals from all regions of the oblast in recognition of their contribution to the socio-economic development of the region and in connection with the 70th anniversary of the Vitebsk oblast. The chairman of the Vitebsk oblast executive committee, Vladimir Andriechneko, presented the award at an official ceremony on January 18.

A good gift was presented to residents of the town of Rossony for the 70th anniversary of the Vitebsk oblast. January 16 saw the solemn launch of the natural gas supply service in the town. Energy Minister Alexander Ozerets, Vitebsk Oblast Governor Vladimir Andreichenko, top executives of the Rossony region and representatives of the general public took part in the event.
With the natural gas distribution grid including Rossony now natural gas is now available in all regional towns....

An exhibition “Artists of the Vitebsk oblast - for the 70th anniversary of founding of the oblast” opened in Vitebsk on January 16. The exposition featuring almost 150 works by 70 artists is deployed in the exposition hall of the Vitebsk modern art centre and oblast museum of local lore and culture.

This year Belarusian TV maker Vityas plans to start manufacturing three models of liquid crystal display TV sets with the screen size as large as 26, 37 and 42 inches, Vityas representatives told BelTA.
With these three models the company will complete its line-up of PREMIUM TV sets. The line-up will feature six models in 2008. The company started manufacturing 15, 20 and 32-inch screen TV sets in 2007.

One of the Vitebsk streets has been named in honour of the 70th anniversary of the Vitebsk oblast foundation. A memorial plaque will be fixed at one of the houses in the street connecting Moskovsky Prospect and Gazeta Pravda Street, BelTA learnt from Mikhail Kuzmich, the head of the ideology department of the Vitebsk oblast executive committee.
