TIBO 2018 to open in Minsk on 14 May

The international forum on information and communication technologies TIBO 2018 is opening in Minsk on 14 May, BelTA has learnt.

The opening ceremony will take place at Minsk Arena. It will be followed by a plenary session for government officials, heads of international organizations and leading information and communication companies who will discuss global practices of digital transformation, forecasts and prospects of modern technologies.

The expo will start working on 15 May. The exhibition will bring together more than 100 companies from 15 countries (Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, the United Kingdom, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, United States, and Japan).

TIBO's central exposition will be IT Country Belarus featuring innovative developments in the field of information technologies of government bodies and Belarusian IT companies, resident companies of the Hi-Tech Park, and their possible applications in healthcare, education, public security, transport, agriculture, and so on. TIBO will also showcase the national pavilions of Kazakhstan (the partner country of the forum this year) and Azerbaijan and also the collective stands of the State Science and Technology Committee, the Minsk City Hall, the State Military Industry Committee.

This year's expo will display the latest achievements in robotics, new mobile services and applications, IT for the urban sector and utilities services, geo-information and navigation technologies. The focus will be on startup advancement and popularization of IT among the youth.

The business program of the event will focus on digital transformation and digital economy prospects in Belarus. Participants will discuss the transformation of the education system, the development of e-government and innovative infrastructure.

For the first time TIBO will feature the EAEU digital forum on 15 May. Participants of the forum will discuss drivers and barriers on the way to the single digital market in the EAEU. The same day the 2nd Belarus ICT Summit will take place to discuss cloud technologies, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, augmented and virtual reality, blockchain and 3D modeling technologies.

The forum will include the annual competition for the best Belarusian Internet resource TIBO Internet Awards. The ceremony to award the winners will be held on 17 May.

The forum will close on 18 May.
