Program ready for Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk festival

Details have been unveiled for the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk festival program, director general of the Vitebsk cultural center, the festival director Alexander Sidorenko told the media on 10 April, BelTA has learned.

The program has been published on the official website of the festival. It includes the events to be held at the Vitebsk concert hall, the Yakub Kolas National Academic Drama Theater, the Lyalka puppet theater, the Vitebsk Oblast Philharmonic, and the Summer Amphitheater.

"We are working on the last details. The program is even more action-packed that in 2017. The main venue of the festival will see 19 concerts. There will also be three days when the amphitheater will host three events. It will be open virtually 24/7, with rehearsals immediately followed by concerts," Alexander Sidorenko said.

The line-up of entries for the two song contests for adults and children is complete, he added. Each contest will see 21 participants.

The Vitebsk concert hall will play host to the entire children's music contest and the semi-final of the pop song contest. It will also host a gala concert by masters from Kazakhstan headlined The Art of the Great Steppe, a performance by the Moscow State Academic Dance Theater Gzhel, anniversary concerts by composer Igor Luchenok and Sergei Volchkov, and two stage productions from the Theater Meetings program.

The 2018 Slavianski Bazaar edition is set to offer a lot of interesting this to theater lovers. The Theater Meetings program includes 10 shows. One of the brightest is Oleg Menshikov's Dream Orchestra: Brass (the Yermolova Moscow Drama Theater). A puppetry project will be set in motion at the Lyalka theater. The line-up of acts includes nine performances for children and adults by theaters from Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine.

The Vitebsk Oblast Philharmonic is expected to host concerts by the Russian State Academic Chamber Vivaldi Orchestra, the Belarus-Russia Youth Symphony Orchestra, Georgia's ensemble Alilo, Israeli artists, and the Three Grand Pianos Show.

The 27th edition of the International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk will be held from 12 to 16 July. Additional activities are scheduled 7-11 and 17-18 July.
