Budget appropriations on healthcare development to go up 14.7% in Belarus in 2020

Budget appropriations on healthcare development will increase greatly in 2020, BelTA learned from Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko on 4 November. The MP took part in the inauguration of the reconstructed administration and amenities building of the Dokshitsy District Central Hospital.

The MP said: "We are now considering the next year's budget. It provides for increasing appropriations for healthcare development by 14.7%. It is virtually the highest figure as far as spending increases are concerned."

The head of the lower chamber of the Belarusian parliament noted that close attention is paid to healthcare development in Belarus. "Virtually it is one of Belarus' priorities. It is constantly in the center of attention of the head of state, the government, and the legislative body," Vladimir Andreichenko said. "A clear-cut legislation system has been built in the area of healthcare. Suffice it to say that no session of the House of Representatives can be held without discussing these matters. A short while ago we passed the bill on psychiatric aid and medications. All of it is aimed at improving our population's health."

The hospital's nutrition department is located in the renovated building. Head of the Central Office for Healthcare of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee Yuri Derkach, top officials of the district administration, representatives of the hospital staff, and local residents also took part in the inauguration ceremony.

The nutrition department of the Dokshitsy District Central Hospital was built in 1989. No major overhauls have been held since then. The decision to arrange one at the expense of Br700,000 was made in late 2018. A lot has been accomplished thanks to the redecoration and reconstruction work.
